A dermatologist’s office often removes skin lesions from the face. Routinely, the physician writes “skin lesion” on the encounter form used for coding the case for insurance filing. The pathology report that comes back on Mrs. Smith says “basal cell carcinoma of the left cheek.” Which diagnosis code will be assigned to the case?

a) 173.3

b) 701.9

c) 216.3

d) 239.2

2. Cytopathology slides prepared from a cervical specimen were manually scored using the Bethesda System. Lab personnel performed the scoring under physician supervision. The results were positive. The same physician also prepared a written interpretation. How should you report these services?

Catherine, a 59 year old female patient, status post bilateral modified radical mastectomy 6 months ago, was diagnosed with arteriosclerosis of her left and right coronary arteries. Due to her previous surgeries, a percutaneous left heart retrograde catheterization was performed via her femoral artery. The coronary arteries were found to be narrowed, the right at 70% and the left at 50%. The catheter was removed and the patient was taken to the recovery room. Provide the appropriate CPT code(s).

4.Carl Smith, a 12 year old patient is suffering from congenital cardiac anomaly. The physician performs a TEE with probe placement. The transducer is placed at the tip of an endoscope and introduced into the patient's esophagus to record a two-dimensional echocardiograph. Provide the appropriate CPT code.

5.. Mr.John suffered an hemiplegic attack on his left side due to a cerebral stroke. He started to get choking symptoms whenever he ate or drank anything. Mr.John was supervised by a speech pathologist during an swallowing function evaluation, after the administration of barium orally. The patient had a smooth oral phase and during the pharyngeal phase, developed aspiration. The observations were documented and interpreted by the Radiologist. Code the study performed
